ABOUT

The Ottawa Black Tennis Tournament is a 2 day event that will bring some of the best black tennis amateur players in the city of Ottawa, their families, friends and fans.  Participants will see themselves compete for a variety of prizes and the opportunity to win a trophy. The tournament will culminate with a community BBQ event for participants, fans, their friends and family. 

 

GOAL

The goal of this tournament is to:

Promote diversity in the sport of tennis and  to encourage more Black Ottawans to take up the  sport of tennis.

Strengthen our Black community by bringing them together through sports.

Promote a healthy and active living by advancing good mental and physical health in the Black community.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

MULTIPLE ROUND ROBIN

Players will be divided into round-robin boxes and playing against each person in their box. Players will play short tie-break sets of 4. No Ad-scoring. Winners from each box will be put into a knock out. 

KNOCKOUT

Best performing players from the multiple Round Robin will qualify for the semi-finals and subsequently to the finals.
